What a remarkable and memorable day today was. Here we were ready for our third "actual played" game for the season and prepared for our second defeat knowing that there wasn't much that we could do today other than to defend, defend, defend to try and keep Scot's from giving us a flogging like they have already done to their opponents this season. Today was also our first game with an Official Referee. You don't know how relieved we were to have an Official Ref for this match.
Both sides had plenty of opportunities throughout the match to score goals but nothing was going in. Then Scots got the opportunity to put one away in the first half but it was an offside goal much to our relief, so at half time it was nil all. We pumped our kids up with oranges, snakes and plenty of enthusiasm and encouragement to go back out there and fight for it. And fight for it they did. Halfway through the second half we managed to put one past the Scot's goalie which hit the corner post and slid in just perfectly. By this stage our Glory kids were really pumped up and continued their nail biting fight right up to the full time whistle in what has got to be the longest 50 minutes of our lives. A fantastic team effort from everyone today and a huge pat on the back to our superstar goalie who saved our skin many times today who is looking sharper every week. Well done boys. Thank you for an awesome Mother's Day gift for all our mums - PLAYING FOR GLORY!

I think you may have woken the dragon following that defeat. The Scots went on to win back to back titles without dropping any further points and finishing 13+ point ahaed of second place with a massive goal difference. Good effort from HG and in the end they just missed the semi's by a whisker.
