The under 9’s D2’s fronted up for their 2nd game of the season against Forest Rangers in front of the Glory’s home crowd at Penshurst Park Mini.
The game got off to a cracking start with Glory piling on the pressure and scoring their first goal at the 10 mins mark when Jordan lunged at the ball spilled to the ground by the Ranger’s keeper and tapped in for a goal.
The 2nd goal came a short time later with Jeremy breaking away on the right flank and centred the ball into the middle of the field where the flying Alex volleyed the ball past the keeper in one swift move in Wayne Rooney style.
Rangers pegged back a goal and both teams went in for oranges with the score at 2-1.
The second half saw Alex and Daniel swap goal keeping duties and a short time later Daniel broke away from the congested pack through the centre of the field, eyed up the goalkeeper from 15 metres away and unleashed a scintillating strike to make it 3 goals to 1.
Glory again pushed the ball forward with some strong defence and eventually paving the way for the ball to again land at Daniel’s feet where he magically whizzed into clear space and thundered another shot past the keeper.
Daniel must have been itching for a run following his goalkeeping term for the 1st half as he again tore through the defence in exact identical fashion as his first 2 goals but was denied a hat-trick by the twice-stunned Rangers keeper.
